Ryan Hottenstein is a Vice President of Financial S&lutions LLC. He assists clients with the structuring and pricing of debt and derivative products and provides financial and operational consulting services.

Mr. Hottenstein previously served as Managing Director and Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Reading, Pennsylvania, where he was responsible for all city affairs and operations. Prior to becoming Managing Director, he served as Finance Director, where he oversaw all financial activity including the accounting/treasury, purchasing, tax and budget divisions. In his various positions at the City of Reading he worked on numerous initiatives including:

• Implementation of a guaranteed energy savings program which allowed the City to make capital improvements needed while producing net savings
• Restructuring of pension liability through the use of pension bonds
• Evaluation of the privatization or consolidation of existing municipal services
• Evaluation and review of the structuring of asset sales
• Management of more than $181 million in assets as board member and treasurer of the Officers & Employees, Fire and Police pension boards
• Establishment of a continual process improvement program
• Hiring of a business analyst

Since joining Financial Solutions LLC, Mr. Hottenstein has focused on analyzing clients’ debt portfolios and structuring both new money and refunding debt issuance to achieve the lowest possible borrowing cost for clients.
He received a B.A. in Economics from the University of Maryland and an MBA with a concentration in business from Alvernia University.
